Use group filter interface for linking/linked operations
Following the guidelines for making a suggestion, here I would like to suggest an improvement to the UI for linking (parts of) operations.
- What shortfall are you trying to solve in the current functionality of the addon?
The interface used to link parts of one operation to another is still very small and difficult to navigate from a UX point of view, especially as the number of operations grows.
My suggestion is to use something similar to the "Group Filter" (used in the "My Auctions" tab, as well as the "Base Group" item assignment interface) to link operations.
If possible, it would also be nice to have the "link all" functionality restored as mentioned in my response to the next question.
- What new functionality do you hope to attain with the addition of this feature?
Create an easier, more user-friendly way to link parts of operations to another, or whole operations, perhaps restoring the "link all" functionality that used to be present in previous versions of TSM (TSM2, I believe).
- How would you or others use this feature?
Instead of the current method of clicking on the "link" icon and having it show a small, scrollable list, my suggestion would pop up an interface similar to the "Group Filter" mentioned above, but with the ability to search operations instead of groups.
Users could use the interface's search to filter their operations, and thus more easily select and link the correct operation, instead of having to scroll down a small list.
If the "link all" feature is restored, a user could clone a "base" operation, then link all settings to said base operation, then only un-link the necessary fields, as opposed to having to link each one individually.
