A staple of statistical analysis is the detection of outliers. Huge deviations from the true value of an item are what make up one of the greatest problems that any market analysis site faces. All of the skinning knives that trolls put on the AH for thousands of gold make the market value skyrocket when those prices should be ignored.

The addition of a median function would be a step in the right direction to deal with these outliers. Having upper and lower quartile functions would finish the job. In statistics, an outlier is defined as being 1.5 times the interquartile range outside of that range.

Median is simple. It returns the middle-valued element, or the average between the two middle-valued elements. Med(market, historical, avgsell, minbuyout, vendorsell) might evaluate to Med(1, 3, 2, 5, 4), in which case it would return 3 because 3 is the median of that set. Med(1, 2) would return 1.5 because that is the average of 1 and 2.

The quartile functions are the medians of the upper or lower half of the set. Let's say I have the function UQ(1, 3, 2, 5, 4). Sorted, the set is {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}. The numbers greater than or equal to the median are {3, 4, 5}. The median of {3, 4, 5} is 4, so it would return 4.

Besides being good complements to min and max, this functionality would allow me to look at a bunch of sources and disregard any that are outside the set. The custom price would still be a massive string, but at least the functionality would exist.

(In the following example, sources is a placeholder for a list of sources I would like to average along with vendorSell: "TUJMarket, DBMarket, DBRegionMarketAvg, TUJGlobalMean, TUJRecent, DBMinBuyout, vendorSell")

My goal: check(TUJMarket - 2.5UQ(sources) + 1.5LQ(sources), 0, TUJMarket)

That should return TUJMarket if it is within the range, or return 0 if it is an outlier of my set of sources. Do that for each source, then get the average of what's left, and you have a more reasonable price source that won't get so affected by the one guy who just posted a 100 gold item for 100k.

My idea is to add a "%DBMarket" column to shopping scan results. Currently, the % column shows the percentage of a users maximum auction price as stipulated in the Shopping Operation. However, I think that there should be separate columns for this information.

My suggestion is to rename the current '%' column to '%MaxPrice', and add an additional column called '%DBMarket'. Users like myself can toggle the columns they are interested in seeing on or off, and sort by the one that is most useful to them.

Regarding why this is being suggested: it is very helpful to see what percentage of DBMarket the current buyout price of materials is at. This can currently be accomplished by setting the Maximum Auction Price to DBMarket. However, often times due to shifting markets I need to buy materials that are over DBMarket. To offset this, I must leave all my 'Show Acutions Above Max Price' set to 'Yes'. For users like myself who have many shopping scans, our results can be very large.

However, there are some items that I know I will never buy over a certain amount. For example, most materials I will not buy over 150% DBMarket. But if I set the Maximum Auction Price to 150% DBMarket, the % column now displays the percentage based on 150% DBMarket. In these cases, it would be helpful for me to still see what the percentage of DBMarket is.

I think renaming the current '%' column to '%MaxPrice' will make it clearer to users what this column shows. And adding an additional %DBMarket column will give users more data that will be helpful when deciding what to buy.

This is a relatively minor suggestion, but one that would still be appreciated greatly!

• What shortfall are you trying to solve in the current functionality of the addon?

The current UI seems to force both the source name and any sources within the source to lowercase automatically, and does not allow for any non-alphabetic characters, thus causing difficulty in the readability of both the source names and sources within the custom formulas.

• What new functionality do you hope to attain with the addition of this feature?

First and foremost, I would like to see the custom source UI not force the formulas within them to lowercase, for one. Formulas and sources within operations are not forced to lowercase, and I do not feel they should do so here. I would also like to see the allowing of underscores in custom source names (unless this is am impossibility for some technical Lua reason, of course).

• How would you or others use this feature?

Improve readability for custom sources, i.e. something like auctionpostcap could be AuctionPostCap, auctionpostcap, or even AuctionPostCap.

Most of the time, its just that the bid-price lowers, so that you are on top. But a few times i had someone, who put a Darkmoon card for 30% regional market price in and i had to search for it and by the time i found it, it was already gone.

it would be easier to just buyout when you make a scan for auctioning and something is below the min() threshold of your ops

Many people use Auctioneer and Zygor with TSM for their unique features, like "Auc-Advanced-Searcher-Pawn" plugin.

The problem is that GetAll scan works only for Auctioneer when all three are installed (or sometimes it does not work at all, even for the later). For example, if I scan with TSM - the scan will finish immediately, saying there are zero items in auction house. So my current solution is to never do full scan with TSM, and use data from TSM App, which is often stale.

Could you, please, make GetAll scan work for all three addons without conflicts? In such way that scan data could be procesed by all three addons one-after-another. This may require a bit of communication between your team and other authors, but it does not seem to be a problem.

First, this is the most amazing addon in wow, and I play since vanilla. you guys are doing an amazing job.

There are some points of improvement though. When looking at an item, currently I can see the crafting cost, item value, and net profit, but those are insufficient indicators to evaluate the investment.

E.g: when I sort the reports window by profit the top item I see is:

"Rough Copper Vest"
Crafting cost = 16g, item value = 1049, profit = 1033.

Hovering the mouse on the item I can see the avg daily sold = 0.01, which tells me that it's a terrible investment.

Unfortunately, I have to ''hover'' on every single item in the list to find one with good ratios.

Another example is the profit margin. Some items have 1000 margin but cost 20,000, while another could have a margin of 10g but a cost of 2 and it sells by the hundreds. the latter is a 500% profit margin and a superior investment.

I want to have columns showing those ratios because without them we cannot make a good decision. Hovering over 400 items 1 by 1 can cause brain damage!

Finding a specific custom source without having to scroll down the list to find it.

• What new functionality do you hope to attain with the addition of this feature?

Adding a search bar to the top of the list of custom sources to filter them. Either similar to the one found at the top of the "Operations" tab, or using something more along the lines of the "Group Filter" UI.

• How would you or others use this feature?

As mentioned, this would make it easier to find a specific custom source, especially for those of us who use several.

TSM needs the ability to right click an item in my bags and manually list on the AH the same as the WOW interface.

For current content items, I usually manually list since the prices change so fast and you can only pull MinBuyout from the API every so often. I typically list at real time MinBuyout on competitive items, or they'll never ever sell.

Because TSM doesn't have right-click listing, I just consumed a flask accidentally because I was cancelling with TSM (far better than WOW interface) but forgot to switch back. I'm so used to right clicking an item in my bag to list it on the AH, so really irritating my level 51 (boosted) bank alt just used a Spectral Flask of Power since TSM doesn't recognize a right click on an item as a listing activity when the AH interface is open.

Last Purchased Date would be a handy value source to have. Say you want to shop for materials you frequently use, but you don't want to filter your groups manually. Like... you have all BFA meats in a single group, but you only actually use a few of them on the reg (say the ones for feasts, since those currently still sell well, along with a couple of buff foods). You'd like to assign a shopping operation to that BFA Meats group, but you want to filter out stuff you haven't bought in the last two weeks. Being able to filter by Last Purchased would be super handy to add to your shopping operation to accomplish this.

the core of my problem arises from the non possibility to filter sniper results based on quantity (quantity owned and quantity count in the region), which is another suggestion already created here. since you have to be very fast on sniper, you don't have time to check the tooltip (because you lose the item if you do this)

it's usually not profitable to buy item duplicates (item ID) (supply usually higher than demand), but with the current implementation you can easily end up with duplicate items.

regarding those duplicates item, I don't want to post them more than once, post cap = 1 (for that I need to ignore variations)

I'd like to be able to ignore item variations without having to spend time to create groups for that purpose, import items with variation and so on.

a way to do this is to have the option disabled by default in the base auctioning operation, that way we will save time

this suggestion is in priority for classic since fees are a bigger deal there but would be nice for retail also

Hello, big fan of your addon. Thank you for your wonderful work.
After many many years of using the addon, I always was bummed how the UI looked very "elv-UI"-ish. I like to use default blizz UI as it keeps it feeling like Warcraft in my eyes. This is why I tend to use addons that dont modify it.
I cant live without TSM though, so im hoping if theres ANY possibility to all to add another skin to TSM to match blizzard UI (like buttons and parchment background, etc.)

I know a bunch of my friends who would love this too
I understand this probably wouldnt be worth the time, but im sure it would be appreciated by a lot of people like me, thank you :)

P.S. if this is not really feasible or too hard to implement (which it might be), i would mind additional appearance options, perhaps with blizzard colors

I would like to see the "Add a new custom source" button either moved to the top, duplicated to the top, or ideally, if possible, have a "fixed" position on the UI, so it is visible no matter where you scroll in the list.

This feature would make it easier to add custom sources, especially for those of us who have several.
